Each year our scholarship awardees are honored at a scholarship reception. This annual event provides an opportunity to recognize the scholarship awardees along with their families and also provides an opportunity for our students to meet BP representatives and other invited dignitaries. BP is pleased to support this initiative as a way of giving back to the communities in which we operate by encouraging local high school seniors to pursue their dreams of going to college.
All unpaid primary caregivers over the age of 50 who provide daily care and support for a family member, or former caregivers who lost their loved one within the last two years, are eligible for the grant. Eligible applicants must live in the United States. Interested caregivers must complete an online applicationincluding a word personal statement describing why the applicant wants to participate in a Road Scholar program and how the experience will affect them as a caregiver.
Road Scholar website Deadline: Applicants are encouraged to apply approximately 3 months before their selected program start date. The Senior Caregiver Scholarship is intended for students who currently serve as caregiver for an elderly friend or relative, or have been caregivers in the past. Eligible students must be attending a two or four year university at the time that the award is given.
Students must submit an application questionnaire, a current transcript, and a 3 minute video. In the video, the student should share their caregiving story, including what they learned from the experience and how their caregiving experience influenced their career path and choice of college major.
Applications for the Fall award will be due in July.
The Aging Matters scholarship is available to students who currently care for an elderly loved one, work in the senior care field, or are pursuing a career that will positively impact the elder population.
The award can be used towards tuition, books, room and board, and other school-related expenses. Eligible applicants must be full-time students at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university. Incoming college freshmen are also welcome to apply.
Interested students must complete an application form, including a 1, word essay on why Aging Matters to them. Applications for open in October and are due in May.
